Are you using VirtualBox to create a VM?
If so, you are good to read this stuff.
In cloudera vm, open terminal and type ifconfig to get the machine ip address to connect/ transfer files from local to cloudera vm.
If you are getting ip address like 10.x.x.x then you can’t connect your machine to cloudera vm via Winscp.
Turn off the VM.
Open the network setting of your vm.
Enable the network adapter with bridged adapter as the value for the ‘attached to’ list box.
Restart the VM.
It should work fine.
